Who we are

PRODUM is a registered workers union whose objectives is; to promote good working conditions to drivers, enhance professional attitude to drivers and encourage good working relationship between employers and employees.

Drivers contribute to economic development of Malawi by saving catalyst in the development and maintenance of vibrant and innovative transport industry.

Qualification

hOW TO BECOME A MEMBER

Membership to the union is open to all qualified individuals.
Each applicant for membership shall be in writing to the secretary at the union
An applicant shall not be admitted to membership unless his or her qualifications for membership have been determined by the executive committee.
A person shall not qualify to be a member of the union unless the person-
i. Is a holder of a valid driving license;
ii. Is a professional driver
iii. Accepts the objectives of the union and
iv. Is committed to cause of the union.
Every member shall pay a no-refundable fee of K7000.00 (Seven thousand kwacha only)
Every member shall pay a monthly subscription of K2000 (Two thousand kwacha only)

BENEFITS OF MEMBERS

To be represented by the union or its legal practitioners in all employment matters

To be indemnified by the union, in line with existing policies of the union, in the event of accident or sickness while performing proven union duties.
